"We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give." Winston Churchill
Watching CNN’s Heroes on Thanksgiving Day was an inspiration. The heroes portrayed in the program, and many other heroes like them, show us how each individual can make a difference. It takes an idea, passion, dedication, perseverance and the joy of achievement.
The big question is: What are you going to do this holiday season to make a difference?
It can be powerful when we dedicate some time and effort to make a difference in the world. All it takes is one small change by each one of us to create rewarding results. Random acts of kindness make you happy and elevate your self-respect; they make others feel validated and respected. This is a win-win result!
Giving comes in different packages--you can give from yourself with time and effort or from your pocketbook. Khalil Gibran said, “You give but little when you give of your possessions. It is when you give of yourself that you truly give. “
Make this holiday season different by making a difference in someone’s life; give and be the hero you are.
